Select Sikh Scriputres Vol.IV
Being published on the auspicious occasion of the birth of the Khalsa, the final in the four-volume series entitled Select Sikh Scriptures is exclusively devoted to sri. Guru Gobind Singh, the creator of the Khalsa who moulded the followers of Guru Nanak into a people fired with the spirit of righteousness and imbued to resist evil, if necessary, by sword. The selection is based upon Dasam Granth, the compilation said to have been undertaken by Bhai Mani Singh at the command of Mata Sundri after the passing away of her spouse. Of late, there has been a well-meaning controversy about the authenticity of the entire text of Dasam Granth as it has travelled to us. An assiduous attempt has, therefore, been made to include in the present volume only those bains whose veracity is beyond doubt. It contains major works like Jaap Saheb Hazare in full and select sheaves of Swaiyyasm, Kabits and Chhands, the poetic moulds in which the master excelled. Guru Gobind Singh wrote at an ecstatic pitch; in Jaap Saheb alone he has some 950 names for Divine Entity. The text of the original in Hindi, Braj, Sanskrit litterateur, trying as far as possible to do full justice to the original which is both lyrical and searching, intense and rarefied.

Sacred Jap Ji
It is most difficult for a mortal to interpret and explain the meaning of the Divine Verse of the Jap(u) Ji Sahib and other courage to submit that the entire subject has been dealt with in a new form in this book. The letters used for transliterating the verse give almost the exact sounds of the words as used in the Gurmukhi Script. All attempts have been made to give the translation in simple English language. The learned readers may find mistakes. May almighty God and the Satguru Shower Their Grace on all of us, so that this work may be of some use of the world.

Fifty-Two A Commandments of Guru Gobind Singh
Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, before leaving for the heavenly abode, had given some instructions to his followers present at Nanded in 1708. Baba Ram Singh Koer Ji, the great-grandson of Baba Budha Ji wrote down these injunctions, which have fortunately come to us through an old manuscript.
The author elaborates these 52 commandments in the light of Gurbani. Hence the book provides a comprehensive critique on the Sikh way of life prescribed by the tenth Guru Himself.
